Devastated that this establishment is no longer a part of our San Leandro/Bay Area community. Their food set the bar, and the friendly staff made coming here an easy choice. We even named our pup Xiao meaning "small" in mandarin. We call her small but mighty and this was exactly this restaurant. Thank you for the delicious and top notch food over the years. This is a reminder to support small family owned businesses.

Came here after a midday dentist visit and didn't regret it! It's a simple restaurant- no bells or whistles. The menu is fairly extensive, with some lunch specials (weekdays only) that come with an entree, soup, and a side. I read that they have good XLB so that's what I got on top of my fish special. Everything tasted homemade, which in my book is a big compliment especially since places like these are a dime a dozen in the East Bay. Service was fast and efficient, and while parking wasn't the easiest, it wasn't terrible either. You can easily walk here if you park alongside the street and there are lots of other shops and businesses nearby. I recommend trying their XLB, which were nice and juicy, and maybe getting a few dishes to share if you come in a group.

My daughters wanted XLB for their mommy date so we decided to give this spot a try. We ordered way more than necessary but it was perfect to bring home. We ordered Green onion pancake (kids loved this) Spicy braised beef noodle soup (TRY THIS!) Spicy wontons (wasn't spicy-- too much peanut butter) Handmade potstickers (kids loved this) Chicken fried rice (flavorful even tho it looks bland) Pork XLB (order multiples of this lol) Hot & sour soup I'm surprised there weren't more XLB options on the menu. I expected more from the spicy wontons, but it just tasted way too much like peanut butter. The spicy noodle soup was delicious though and the meat was really tender. I like seeing them make the XLB fresh. We had 2 servers-- the teenage boy was kinda rude but the other waitress that helped us was pretty friendly.

Super well-made xiao long bao and eggplant! This is a very unassuming and old school restaurant in the area. Lots on the menu and very family-style oriented food. Here's what I tried: + Xiao Long Bao (5/5): Flavorful broth inside each dumpling! Very well made and the perfect texture from the wrapper. They don't skimp in the pork inside too. + Braised Eggplant with fish garlic sauce (5/5): Soooo flavorful! I loved this the most I think. So much eggplant and the sauce was addicting. Not too salty. I would order this again for sure. + Cucumber Salad (3/5): Nothing special. Oddly cut into cubes, but tasted good. + Chicken Stir Fried Rice Cakes (3/5): Very mid. There was not enough sauce, so this dish was really bland. I wish that it had more umami or saltiness in the flavor. It mainly tasted like celery. + Chicken Corn Soup (4/5): Very hearty and easy to share! The broth was thick and not too salty. Complimented the corn and egg perfectly.

I enjoyed eating here with my friends! We did family style with 4 dishes, and that left a majority of us feeling full and content. What we ordered: - Cucumber with Garlic Sauce: Nothing too crazy, but a great appetizer to start with. This was light, slightly garlicky/pickled, and refreshing! - Pork Xiao Long Bao: The soup in the dumplings was flavorful and there was a good amount of filling on the inside. The wrapper was also thick and had a good chewiness to it too. I would order more of this, and other options as well. - Braised Eggplant with Fish Garlic Sauce: So yummy! This was super flavorful and not overly seasoned or salty at all. The eggplant texture was also really good, it was soft + firm! - Pork with Pickled Veggies Rice Cake: This was not a group favorite... the rice cakes were chewy but there wasn't much flavor going on besides the vegetables (celery + spinach?). Pretty bland, but this tasted better with the restaurant's chili oil! - Chicken Corn Soup: This dish surprisingly came last, but I'm glad it did since it was a great way to end my meal! This soup was comforting and flavorful.

Had a great time dining at this Chinese restaurant on a Wednesday evening with a group of friends! In the heart of Downtown San Leandro, there's metered parking in front of the restaurant or a few spots near the other restaurants. We were sat immediate for a group of 5 around 4:30 pm. We got their Soup dumplings, which were amazing and delicious. Their rice cakes were bland and dry... Their egg, chicken, and corn soup was great and flavorful. The braised eggplant had great spices. Good Chinese restaurant

Really a 3.5 star visit, rounded up. Quality/Quantity - Crab Meat Xiao Long Bao - My wife (as with many of the Yelp Reviews) said she could not taste the crab. But when you see the name/word crab or lobster, it just calls you to order that dish. Cooked well, good texture with both the wrapper and filling. Held the broth inside the wrapper perfectly. Shanghai Pork Xiao Long Bao - This dish was "dryer." After my first one, I decided to dip/soak it in the braised beef noodle soup. Wow, I am a genius! What a good combination, a home run. Braised Beef Noodle Soup - One of my wife's favorites. The braised beef was cooked perfectly. Melts in your mouth, but firm enough to still have texture. The broth was flavorful. The noodles seemed "store" bought. If they did hand pull noodles, then this dish would have been 5 stars. Atmosphere - Good size location, semi private room if needed. See pictures. Semi open kitchen, which I prefer. But this family is experienced and probably too comfortable with the open kitchen. Some of the things I witnessed, I probably should not have. Seems to be run by family, siblings, parents and maybe even their children...? Now this is a local family business. Metered street parking, got here right after 6pm so free for us. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 8:30 or 9pm. Service - Okay. Could have been better, but was not bad. No initiative, but they gave us everything we asked for. Everyone was working hard. But not "friendly." But again, not unfriendly, just direct. Price - $32 + tip. Very reasonably priced for what we got. As we are light eaters, I actually could have not ordered the second Xiao Long Bao. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2018, my daughter is a regular customer and encouraged us to also visit.

Shanghai style restaurant. Known for their Xiao Long Bao. We ordered the Xiao Long Bao and they were really good. Lots of soup in each bao. It's best to eat them on a soup spoon. Bite a little hole in the bao and suck out the soup and then eat the bao. It comes with a tasty soy sauce based sauce. We also got the dry green beans. They look they would be spicy as they have red flakes on them. They are very tasty and not spicy. Lastly we got the Chicken Pan Fried Noodles. They were tasty and the noodles were a bit sweet in a good way. I wouldn't order it again as it wasn't appealing looking. It was monochromatic. They should have added some green into the mix. On top of the noodles was white onion, light orange carrots, and white chicken. Parking is street parking. On Sundays it's free. There is no private lot. Service- It was better than last time. We were greeted warmly and sat down and were given tea, plates, chopsticks, and soup spoons. We waved over the waiter to place our order. The green beans came out first. Then the Xiao Long Bao. When the XLB was served we placed the order for the crispy noodles. We had to wave down our waiter to get our check. They didn't check on us.
